The show was on radio for 21 years, making it one of the longest running programs. It started on the Blue Network, Oct. 16, 1939 - Jan. 19, 1940. After a one year layoff it came back on CBS, Jan. 22, 1940 - Dec. 26, 1941. Three days later the show could be heard on NBC, Dec. 29, 1941 - Jun. 29, 1956. It ended its long run back at CBS, Jul, 2, 1956 - Nov. 25, 1960.

The stars of the show were numerous, featuring Ruth Bailey as Rose Kransky, Mignon Schreiber, Seymour Young, Nancy Hurdle, Pat Murphy, Carlton KaDell, Lucille Gilman, Art Peterson, Eloise Kummer as Carolyn Allen, Claudia Morgan as Carolyn Allen, Selena Royle as Carolyn's mother Doris Minten, Constance Crowder as Doris Minten, Irene Hubbard as Doris Minten, Charles Webster as Fred Minten, Hugh Studebaker as Fred Minten, Art Kohl as Fred Minten, Reese Taylor as Carolyn's first husband Bill Walker. Frank Behrens, Dick Wells, David Gothard and Ed Prentiss all as Dwight Kramer, Carolyn's second husband. Gary Merrill and John Larkin as Miles Nelson, Carolyn's third husband.
